Mangrove tour
One of the really nice things to do in Langkawi, especially if you want to explore some of the island’s nature, is a mangrove tour. You head out by boat through the mangroves, see beautiful nature and beaches, spot monkeys along the way, and learn more about the area from the guide.
We ended up doing a private tour, which we can definitely recommend. It cost around MYR 300 in total, which translated to roughly SGD 50 per person and even included private hotel pickup and dropoff. The big advantage is that the guide can help you avoid crowds as much as possible, bring you to some of the nicest beaches, and even give you time to just relax there. We booked it very spontaneously the evening before, at a little tourist office along Cenang beach road.
Pro tip: If you want to feed the monkeys, you can buy snacks at the shop at the port before getting on the boat.
